Batavia Downs to Host a Smokin' Sopranos Party Sponsored by OTB and Rocky Patel -- Sopranos Star Will Attend

Batavia, NY (PRWEB) April 23, 2007 -- Martin P. Biniasz, Director of Marketing at OTB in Western New York, announced today that Batavia Downs will be hosting an historic event at their famous cigar lounge on Sunday April 29th. The 5th episode of this seasons HBO hit series The Sopranos, which will air Sunday, includes a scene that was filmed at the famous race track Batavia Downs which was founded in 1940. Joe Zambito, track announcer, will be calling the race in the episode. The Downs is the first racetrack to be owned by an Off Track Betting Corporation. "Our entire staff is thrilled about this event said" Martin.

In celebration of this national television debut, OTB, along with some assistance from http://rockypatel.com, will be hosting a Cigar Party at the Cigar Lounge at Batavia Downs on Sunday. Attending the event will be Joseph R. Gannascoli who plays the mob character "Vito" on the HBO hit series The Sopranos. Vito, who was "whacked" last season, has come back to life bigger than ever and is now touring the United States and abroad as the celebrity spokesman for Rocky Patel Premium Cigars. "I've been a stogie man for years, says Gannascoli, its funny how life works, I was a Rocky Patel customer and now I am their spokesman!"

Batavia Downs has one of the only remaining cigar lounges in Western New York. Its history is golden. Celebrities both locally and nationally known, have been spotted there for years and this weekend will be no different as Vito (Joe Gannascoli) from the Sopranos will be there for another Batavia Downs/OTB landmark event.

The owners of The Virgil Avenue Tobacconist, Buffalo's legendary smoke shop, Bob and Barry said "we are thrilled about having an event like this in our area, we are long time friends of Rocky and Rocky Patel Premium Cigars is one of our top selling brands!"
