Dawna Lee Heising and Joycelyne Lew Host 'Eye on Entertainment' at Diversity Awards in November 2007
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) January 4, 2008 -- Dawna Lee Heising, Ms. World 2008, and actress Joycelyne Lew co-hosted the cable television show "Eye on Entertainment" on the red carpet at the Diversity Awards on November 18, 2007. The Diversity Awards were held at the Globe Theatre at Universal Studios. The Diversity Awards are put on by the Multicultural Motion Picture Association to honor outstanding and inspiring individuals in the entertainment industry for their contribution to diverse perspectives in film and television. 2007 celebrates the 15th Anniversary of the Diversity Awards and the theme for this year's show was "Celebrating Diversity -- The Best and the Brightest Making it Happen!" and the emcee was Debbie Matenopoulous.
Director Kenny Ortega was honored as Best Director Comedy or Musical award for the successful "High School Musical 2" and Leonardo DiCaprio and fellow producers of the documentary "The 11th Hour" were awarded Best Documentary Feature. CBS Television was honored for the studio's Diverse Network Programming and talented young artists Brittany Snow and Elijah Kelley received awards for their roles in the film "Hairspray". Multi-talented actress and producer Monique received the Renaissance Artist award for her diverse roles as artist and creative maverick in the entertainment community. The following television shows were also honored: the Fox drama "House,"; CBS' "Shark," starring James Woods; NBC's "Passions" and "The Office".
The Director and Co-Producer of "Eye on Entertainment" is John Cox, a leading staff member in the film and video department at Orange Coast College. He divides his time between his students and producing television shows for Time Warner. He currently has several shows in production including "The Storylady's Magic Book," "The Three Bears Show" and "Eye on Entertainment". His past films include "Super-Heroes," "Guide Dogs of the Desert" and "The Filmmaker of Oz", among many others. John has degrees in filmmaking, television and electronics. Rick Lee was the cameraman on "Eye on Entertainment." He received a B.S. in Film from the University of Southern California.
Dawna Lee Heising was Ms. US World 2007 and recently won Ms. World 2008. She is a member of the Screen Actor's Guild and appeared on "Fantasy Islan," "The New Gidget," "The Young and the Restless" and other shows. She also was featured as Cleo the Snake Dancer on the last "Magnum P.I." Dawna has a B.S and MBA from Pepperdine University. She is the President of Heising Communications, a public relations company based in Huntington Beach and is the Co-Producer of "Eye on Entertainment."
Joycelyne Lew is an accomplished actress with credits in "Taipan," "The Young and the Restless," "Saved by the Bell" and many other shows. She had one of the lead roles in "The Big Brawl" with Jackie Chan. Joycelyne has a B.A. from UCLA and an MBA from Pepperdine University and also performs voiceovers for film and television. She is the President of Final Print, a printing company based in Los Angeles.
The Multicultural Motion Picture Association (MMPA) The Diversity Awards are sponsored by the Multicultural Motion Picture Association to honor outstanding and inspiring individuals in the entertainment industry for their contribution to diverse perspectives in film and television. The MMPA promotes and enhances even greater opportunities for all cultures to bring their stories and perspectives to the screen. The association acknowledges the creative strides being made in network, cable and motion picture projects whose stories reflect realistic and accurate portrayals and strives to raise a greater consciousness about the need for expanded and more realistic roles in the entertainment industry for people of all cultural backgrounds.
