Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 13, 2008 -- The Black Women Playwrights' Group (BWPG), a service advocacy group for playwrights of color, celebrates its 19th Anniversary with a staged reading. The reading, Shades of Change, features work from seven group members, and covers themes from the pulpit to the Bid Whisk table. It will be hosted by J C Hayward, of WUSA 9 on June 23rd; and Triscina Grey, of WHUR on June 24, at the Studio Theatre, located at 1501 14th Street NW, Washington, DC at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $40 before June 6, $45 thereafter, and can be purchased at www.InstantSeats.com. A group rate of $28 is available for groups of (5) or more, and $20 of the ticket price is tax deductible.
The plays featured are pieces that were presented by group members during the 2007-2008 season. The amazing excerpts will have audiences laughing, crying and reflecting, as the extraordinary and ordinary represent the many Shades of Change.
